Transport Planner Wanted in Gothenburg

We are now looking for a transport planner for our terminal in Gothenburg who wants to strengthen our team during the summer.

What will you do?

You will actively work to optimize transportation operations qualitatively and cost-effectively. The job involves daily planning of vehicle bookings; internal and hired as well as courier management in collaboration with customer service. You will also handle unforeseen events that may occur during a work shift. In many areas, it is important that you work closely with your colleagues, your work group, other departments, and functions to solve the challenges that may arise during a workday. This requires that you enjoy working with planning, communication, and follow-up. We are also in the midst of a digitalization journey to streamline deliveries and improve the working environment for drivers and transport planners.

What are we looking for in you?

A workday in the transport department is never the same, and during periods you will handle many different cases simultaneously. Therefore, we are looking for someone who is meticulous, enjoys problem-solving, and has a strong sense of service. You are a skilled communicator both internally and externally and enjoy collaborating. With us, everyone contributes to making the whole as good as possible. This requires us to adhere to timelines and organize work efficiently. We manage all of this via phone, email, and various systems. Therefore, it is crucial that you enjoy talking on the phone, have good communication skills in writing, and are interested in technology and/or systems.

To succeed in this role, we believe that you:

• Have at least a high school education. If you also have ongoing relevant post-secondary education in logistics or transport, it is an advantage.
• Have good computer skills, where previous work in transport management systems (TMS) and Excel is highly meritorious.
• Have excellent communication skills.
• Are service-oriented and solution-oriented. You understand the importance of good customer interaction and take responsibility for finding good solutions to problems that arise.
• We have Swedish as our corporate language, so you need to be able to read and understand written information and instructions in Swedish. You should also be able to hold a conversation on common topics during the workday.

If you have experience in transport planning or equivalent and are geographically knowledgeable, it is an advantage.

Your workplace

Your workplace is in our transport department in Gothenburg. Currently, the department consists of a terminal manager, five transport planners, two production leaders, and about 20 terminal workers.
